Somebody Just Take My Keys Away

Remember when I left the back of my van open when I went shopping at Kohls (read about it here)? When I do stupid things like that, I feel assured that I won't repeat the mistake. And I haven't. Not that exact mistake, anyway. But at the mall today I did leave the passenger side window down completely while I was inside! Nothing was taken and I, once again, feel very lucky. How many more chances do you think I have? I'm going to guess "none" and try to act accordingly.

All I could do was laugh. Sorry. I do crazy things like that all the time.

I take full responsibility for this. I never should have asked you to roll down your window to look at distracting air fresheners that say "Bee-otch". I am glad nothing was stolen. I would have reimbursed you every penny.

What, thieves didn't want empty soda cups and McDonald's toys? Preposterous! Kidding, I'm glad everything was okay.

You are funny Jenn! Sounds like it was Natalie's fault! Just kidding.

I'll take you keys! Which car? I prefer the van.

Seriously Jenn...what you need is a laminated check list hanging from your key ring...or rear-view mirror...keys?-check. Windows?-check. Kids?-check. Doors?-check.....
:) We all do stuff like that...some more than others... hee hee! :)

Very refreshing to hear others can be forgetful sometimes. On a similar thought lapse, I was in charge of a committee meeting at our school. On the morning of the meeting I had breakfast with a friend who also happened to be on the committee. I told her that I would see her at the meeting that afternoon. What did I do...went shopping and totally forgot about the meeting. I happened to be home during the meeting and my friend called and said, "hey we are all here, where are you?" I felt so stupid!

If it makes you feel better, I just backed my car into my sister in law's car, which was parked in my driveway. I haven't gotten brave enough to blog about it yet though. Commenting about it on your blog is my baby step for the day.

When Ryan was 4, and his sister a new born, I left the car running with them inside as I ran into a window store 6 feet away.

The store had floor to ceiling windows across the front and the register was in the very front of the store; so I could see them the whole time...I was waiting in line...

I turned for 10 sec to talk to the clerk; and Ryan came up and pulled on my shirt. I freaked...I said, "honey what about Allee?" He said Mom don't worry, she's still asleep and I locked the doors.

Unfortunately he'd locked the doors with the baby inside; and the car running...STUPID ME!

That was the first and last time I ever left my kids in the car....so you may forget to lock up, at least you take your kids with you.....hahaha!
